Equipment of the United States Army

You can ask a lot of people and they will tell you the same thing: the US Army has the most advanced equipment that can be used for different purposes. They have items that are existing that you do not even know about.

There are some gadgets that they can use whenever they go to war. From the best ammunition and guns to things that can give them protection, you know that they have advanced equipment that will be hard to find anywhere else.

Ammunition of the United States Army

If average people can have different guns and use different types of bullets, it is not surprising that the military will have a lot. Some of the ammunition that they are using are the following:

M11 – This used to be the primary sidearm of the military until they upgraded to the M9 Pistol.

M9 Pistol – Some people refer to this as the Beretta 92. This is now the primary sidearm of the US Military.

Heckler & Koch MP5 – This is being used for night ammunition. It is also the one used when they are trying to save someone from a hostage crisis.

M1991 Pistol – This is only being used by a limited number of people.

M249 Light Machine Gun – This was first introduced in the year 1984 and has been continued to be used since then.

M16 Rifle – This is already phased out so that the rest of the army can start using M4.

M4 Carbine – This was the replacement of the M16.

M231 FPW – This is a different version of the M16 and it is also shorter.

Weapons of the United States Army

Do you know that the weapons of the United States Army can still be divided into three categories? These three categories are the following:

Personal Weapons

Support Weapons

Vehicle-Mounted Weapons

Personal weapons are those that are being used by the military for their personal use. Some may choose to upgrade their weapons just because they think that it is cool. Support weapons are used by teams. Those who are in the support roles of the military will have access to this type of weapon. Vehicle-mounted weapons are weapons that will be placed on the vehicles used by the military. Some are obvious. Some are hidden and would only be revealed when they are already being used.

Personal Weapons

Pistols – As mentioned earlier, the M9 is the side weapon of the US Military.

Rifles/Carbines – The military has already done a lot of replacements over the past years.

Marksman Rifles – Probably the most popular marksman rifle that is being used right now is the MK14 EBR. This is a battle rifle that is known to work well. Take note that the rifle being used by the squad is different.

Light Machine Guns – The usual light machine gun is called the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon. This is a belt-fed light machine gun. The only problem with this is it would tend to malfunction.

Support Weapons

Different weapons are being used by the support people in the military. Some of them are as follows:

Machine Guns – Different machine guns are available such as the M60 machine gun. This belt-fed-general-purpose machine gun is being used right now. The heavy machine gun can also be useful. Even the grenade machine gun can also be used when people want to do between 40 to 60 rounds per minute.

Rockets – the AT4 is known as a light tank weapon. Another thing that can be used is the M141 Bunker Defeat Munition. This is an effective bunker-busting weapon.

Missiles – For missiles, you can find the FGM-148 Javelin. FIM-92 Stinger is also being used.

Vehicle-Mounted Weapons

Some weapons can be placed in vehicles that may be immediately obvious. Some would be considered the primary weapon while others would serve as support.

GAU – 19 – This is a rotary gun that is normally placed on helicopters.

The M230 Autocannon Fires are known to provide ammunition at a rate of 625 rounds for every minute.

The M242 Autocannon Fires will be very effective in providing ammunition at 200 rounds per minute.

Conclusion

Expect that the US military is always using top-of-the-line and the best types of weapons. Some of their weapons are highly sought after. Yet, they still continuously improve what they already have. Expect that there are going to be more changes in the next few years or so.
